I'm still here.

Hello out there. I know I haven't kept up with the blog, but being out of work for 21 months sucks and I really haven't been in the mood, but I figured it is time to re-appear. First on the agenda is the Mets, pretty good first half, but as usual starts the second half being swept by the Braves. They better not go south. They have the stuff to keep it going. On a better note, I saw Furthur at MCU Park in Coney Island last night with some good friends. Just a great show. Weather was good and there were other things to make the show enjoyable!! Here is the setlsit: 07/14/12 (Sat) MCU Park - Coney Island, NY Set 1: Shakedown Street, Alligator > Good Lovin', When I Paint My Masterpiece, Mountain Song > Dear Mr. Fantasy, Sugar Magnolia Set 2: Jam > Cryptical Envelopment > The Other One > St. Stephen > Born Cross Eyed > New Potato Caboose > Caution > Eclipse (1) > China Doll > Playing in the Band > The Wheel > I Know You Rider E: One More Saturday Night Comment: (1) Pink Floyd cover, last played 10/01/11

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Johan Santana pitched the first Met no hitter ever last night. If there was one guy who should get it it was definitley him. After being out all last year, and not getting the run support too many times, he finally did it. CONGRATS. And the Mets are not doing too bad this year either. Let's hope they keep laying like this to stay in contention.

RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the Rangers won 3-2 and are still alive, which will force a game seven on Thursday. However, Ottawa's second goal with 38 seconds was bullshit since it was kicked in and was very obvious on the replay, but for some reason the league office determined it was a goal. It is a moot point since the Rangers won, but you hate to see that shit. Thursday is going to be nerve racking to say the least! LETS GO RAN-GERS!

Something to ponder

All I will say is this. Whatever other problems The Rangers have, they better start shooting the f*****g puck on power plays. It is quite simple. The series is now the best of three and if they don't start doing the things they need to do...well...I just don't want to say.

Sports chazerai...

Well, the Rangers had a chance to go 2 games to none over the Senators...but...they didn't. Very ugly game...which happens, but I believe it took them away from their game. Too much time was spent in their own zone and that usually means the other team will eventually score. It is only 1-1, but they lost the home ice advantage. A win tomorrow will fix that. Stay tuned.....
And the Metsies...who lost today against the Phillies, have taken the series 2-1, and are 6-3 which is pretty cool. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Let's go Mets!!

I am not going to write of the exploits of The Mets every day, but I must note that starting the season by sweeping the Braves is extremely cool. It was a shame that Niese couldn't get the no hitter...and that is 7,971 games with no no hiiters for the Mets...but the win was the important thing. Maybe there is some hope yet for a competitive season.

...and one more thing...

The Mets open up the regular season today at Citi Field. Am I optimistic...not really...but then again, ya never know. Lettuce see what transpires.

RANGERS!!!

I meant to write this the other day, but congratulations to the Eastern Conference Champions, NEW YORK RANGERS. They have home ice throughout the playoffs which is most excellent. They also did this during the 93-94 season and we all know how that ended up...so...let's hope the same can happen. LET'S GO RAN-GERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm

I meant to write...let's hope they go far. Forgot the go..

PLAYOFFS!!

The Rangers not only beat The Devils 4-2 at The Garden, they clinched a playoff berth to boot. Much better than last year when they just eked in. Let's hope they far!

Well...

At one point recently, the New Yor Rangers had a 12 point lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins for overall points in their conference. That lead has now fallen to 1 point.
Not to worry however. I know The Rangers will start getting consistent again. I would rather them have a little faltering now than in the playoffs.

Sports chazerai...

Well, first off, The Mets had their first full team workout today. Beltran and Reyes are gone, so let's see if they have the stones to keep up with the rest of the National League East.
Now on to better things. The Rangers shutout the Devils at The Garden 2-0 and Henrik Lundqvist got his 8th shutout which leads the league. They are playing well, and hopefully will get some home ice advantages come playoff time.

Some thoughts...

Since I haven't posted anything for a little over 2 weeks, first I have to offer congrats to The New York Giants for winning The Super Bowl. You have a good team, and a good coach, you win...period.
Now a word about The New York Rangers. They beat the hated Flyers again...this time by a score of 5-2. They are playing real well. Let's hope they keep this going and who knows...maybe they will have to close Broadway some time in June. One could only hope!!

Well, fellow hockey fans, the New York Rangers won again last night with the King...Henrik Lundqvist getting another shutout They are just clicking on all cylinders. This weekend is the All-Star game...YAWN...never watch em...but it is nice the Rangers lead the Eastern Conference. Yes there is a lot of hockey to go til playoff time, but right now things are looking good. LET'S GO RAN-GERS!!!!!!!!!

How do you decide?

As a Jet fan whose team has been eliminated from the playoffs, you like to see certain teams, beat teams you don't like in the AFC. However, The Broncos play the Patriots today and I can't stand either of em. What a dilemma!

Now that football is over...and a musical note

..as far as The Jets are concerned, it is time to focus on The New York Rangers....who are doing very well. Yes I know it is only January and they have a habit of tanking around playoff time, but I think with the team they have this year, they can go quite far in the playoffs. Lundqvist has been totally awesome, as well as Brad Richards, Del Zotto among others....so as the saying goes..Let's Go Ran-gers!!!
Plus, I forgot to mention that I saw Los Lobos at The City Winery on New Years Eve, a nice small venue in Soho in NYC. Most excellent. Among the great tunes they did, they did a lot of covers including The Grateful Dead's Bertha...which I have seen before, but also The Dead's West L.A. Fade Away which was fantastic. And for those who know of this, they also did a Doug Sahm and Texas Tornado tune She's About A Mover. Haven't heard that tune in YEARS.

No Playoffs for You!

Those who read this here blog may have noticed that I have not talked about the Jets too much as of late. Well that ends now. I know they made the AFC Championship game 2 years in a row and that is very commendable. Having said that, I observed from game one, that Sanchez looked like he regressed. Yes he had some good moments but had more bad moments. He needs to learn not to panic when flushed out of the pocket..like today when he threw more picks. Schottenheimer MUST go. They need an offensive co-ordinator who calls more imaginative plays. They need an offensive line to protect the quarterback. They need a pass rush to sack the other teams quarterbacks. They need a defense that stops teams on third downs and not give up big plays...especially that horrible 99 yard td run by the Giants last week. That is all my ranting for now. I did forget to mention Rex. With all his bravado and statements he makes, I still like him. He brought life into this team, although he maybe should tone down his statements, but Rex is Rex and that won't change. It will be an interesting off-season to say the least.

For 2012

I WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY, HEALTHY, AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
