My how time flies...

Well now. It has been 40 years to the day, that I attended my very first Grateful Dead concert at the Fillmore East in 1971. Since I already wrote about this momentous occasion on the 39th anniversary....why I didn't wait till now is anyone's guess...you can read about it in my blog entry for 4-29-10. Still hard to believe all those years passed, but a good memory to be sure.

Music for a change

I have used the subject matter more than a few times, but what the heck. Last night I saw Acoustic Hot Tuna in this small venue in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, called The Hiro Ballroom. If it had 200 people, it was a lot. Real nice place and the acoustics were excellent. I never get tired of seeing these guys acoustic or electric. Just phenominal. Below is the setlist for those who may want to see.

What a mess

The Mets got swept in their second doubleheader in 3 days. Of course they were not scheduled, but rain in New York and Atlanta caused this to happen. They are horrible however. Their record is 4-11. Last year at this time it was 6-9, but then they went on an 8 game winning streak. With the pitching they have, I don't see that happening.
Something has to give.

2 and OY

Well. As nice as it was for the Rangers to get in the playoffs, it would be nicer still if they can win a game. They couldn't hold the lead in Game 1, and as usual, couldn't clear the puck with 1:36 in the first OT and lost. Second game they didn't even score. I know they weren't expected to go very far, but c'mon fellas, try and score a few goals to be competitive. YIKES!

Bad Pitching

The Mets pitchers, from starters to relievers are HORRIBLE. It is quite possible they will finish in last behind the Washington Nationals. This is the worst I have ever seen!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!

Well, after an excruciating week of The Rangers playing inconsistent hockey, they made the playoffs with a win over the Devils and Carolina losing to Tampa Bay(Thanks to your team John L if you read this)!
Now they play the Washington Crapitals in the first round. Not many people are giving them a chance, but if Lundqvist keeps them in the game, you never can tell.
LET'S GO RAN-GERS!!!!!!!!!

Sports Stuff

Well, the Mets opened up the season with a lovely 6-2 loss. I know this is the first time since 2005 they lost the opener, but Bats In The Pelfrey giving up a Grand Salami, was not good. Plus with Santana not back for a while, this looks like a disaster in the making.
And now on to the lovely Rangers who better f*****g win tomorrow when they play The Flyers in Philly. The offense has been anemic, and the loss to the Ice-Landers the other night totally sucked.
As I usually say in this situation......OY!!
