Spread

At the press time, as they say, the New England Patriots are 24 point favorites over The Jets. Not sure what the over/under is, but I'll bet the Patsies will get most of the over. The Jets say they are fired up because of this. It has the potential of being real ugly.

Winning Streak/Losing Streak

I know 2 games does not necessarily mean winning streak, but it would be nice for the Jetsies to win 2 consecutive games. Why? I can't say, but it would be nice.

On the flip side, The New York Rangers have hit a losing streak that they better correct immediately. You don't want teams to get too far in front of you. Like the freaking Devils.

WOW!!

A Jet win. A complete victory! Where the hell was this team all year?
With all that, they are still only 3-9. Now they play tougher teams the rest of the way. Will they eke out one more win, or are they done? Time will tell.

The Dud Bowl

Jets vs Miami.
In the BIG picture, who cares...but in the season where the Patriots may go undefeated and break the 72 Dolphins record....who really cares...it would be great to see Miami go winless.
So, what else to say? J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS.

Still In Shock

I am now able to write about the Jets win over The Steelers. It was nice but where the hell was this team all season?
Now they have to play The Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Will there be any momentum?
We shall see between the drumsticks and apple pies!!

One and Nine?/Rangers

No, I am not talking about 2 NYC subway lines.
I am a longtime Jet fan, but I have a feeling they are going to get crushed today by the Steelers.
Henceforth the 1-9 deal.
On a happier note, the New York Rangers are in FIRST PLACE!!!
Yes I know it is only November, but I'd rather them be in first place than last!!

A break from sports

Tickets went on sale today for Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, American Express card holders only, and I was able to score 2 tickets. I am psyched like you wouldn't believe. I never thought I would ever see Cream, but I was fortunate enough to see them in 2005. Now I know this isn't a full Blind Faith reunion, obviously it can't be since one member is no longer with us, but this is going to be freaking awesome!!

If this doesn't work....

Well, Kellen "Clarence" Clemens starts for the Jets today.
If he fails, he may end up doing the E Street shuffle out of here.
Let us see...

J-O-K-E JOKE JOKE JOKE!!

That is what the Jets are. A big freaking joke!!
It doesn't matter who starts. They just are horrible.
They won't even go for a 4th and 3... take a freaking chance!!
I am liking Mangini a bit less these days. Way too conservative!!

It's The Same Old Chad

Well,Chad Starts Sunday.
Will they beat Buffalo this time?
Stay tuned fellow Jet sufferers.

Monday, October 22, 2007

Just Horrible

The Jets are 1-6.
They were leading at one point 23-10,
but lost 38-31.
I guess there isn't much to say after that.

Mangenious? I don't think so!

Eric Mangini's decision to start Chad Pennington this Sunday is of course his and his alone. However, if the Jets lose to the Bengals, I would think that Kellen Clemens will start the next game. The QB always takes the fall, although if someone on defense can't tackle, like the Jets have been doing lately, you can't blame that on him.
Stay tuned......

Doesn't Make Difference...

Call them The Titans, call them The Jets...I know what I'd like to call them but not here...they still stink!
They are 1-5 and STILL the coach won't put in Kellen Clemens.
Well, to look on the bright side, they will have a top round draft pick and an easier schedule if they continue to play like this!
OY!

Finally!

It's fall, and the weather actually feels like the season it is supposed to be.
Football weather. Although the way the Jets are playing these days, if they lose Sunday, there will be plenty of heat on the coaches and players.

Springsteen

I wrote this in an earlier blog, but if anyone has an extra Springsteen ticket for Madison Square Garden, either the 17th or 18th of October, please let me know ASAP.
I know he is in the Continental Arena in Jersey tonight and tomorrow, but that means driving to Manhattan in the morning which is a drag. The Garden is so much more convienient.

Same Old %@#^$#% Jets

Not much to say after yesterday's game, but just a little poetry:

The Jets are 1-4
This season is a bore.
The QB is a lemon
So put in Kellem Clemens.

Jets/Giants

Well, sports fans, today the 2-2 Giants play the 1-3 Jets at Giants Stadium. It is a Giant home game, so us Jet season-ticket holders get to watch at home or wherever, unless they were able to manage get their hands on some of those ducats. I was not that fortunate.
A loss for the Giants won't be good, but if the Jets lose, unless a miracle happens, their season is gone.
Stay tuned......

Can't Pull The Wool Over My Ice!

It's finally hockey season! Although the 80-ish degree weather here in NY doesn't feel like hockey weather...at least not yet. However the Rangers won the 1st game and let's hope they have a good season. Not making any predictions or statements, cause you don't want to jinx your team. They had enough of that before 1994!

Just Good Music

For those of you in the know, Al Kooper has played with just about everyone from Dylan, To B.B. King and then some, but I would bet many people would say who?, when asked if they heard of him.
Anyway, he was at B.B. Kings Club last night, with his fellow teachers from The Berklee School Of Music, called The Funky Faculty. Just a phenominal show. He plays stuff from all areas of his musical backround and he will even throw in a tune like Green Onions, made famous by Booker T and The MG's, and for good measure a Ray Charles tune.
Plus,Jimmy Vivino, who plays in Conan O'Briens band and who used to play with Al for years, showed up for a few tunes as well. Just good old fashioned rock and roll!!

I hope thses pics came out, but this is me playing at an open mike night at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs NY. Early in their careers, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, to name but 2 played in this fabled place, and now I did too!!

SHMETS/SAME OLD JETS

THEY STINK(I'M BEING KIND).
THEY NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE FROM THE GM ON DOWN.
THEY NEED TO GET YOUNGER PLAYERS.

THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO SAY.

AS FAR AS THE SAME OLD JETS, WHENEVER YOU HEAR OF A TEAM IN A BAD WAY AS WAS BUFFALO, AND THE JETS HAVE AN OPPROTUNITY TO WIN BIG, THEY USUALLY LOSE..AND THEY DID. THE SEASON IS SLIPPING AWAY.

WHEN DOES HOCKEY SEASON START!

Bruuuuuuce!!

For those who don't know, Bruce Springsteen will be on The Today Show this Friday morning. I will tape it since it will be a madhouse at 30 Rock.

Also, if anyone reading this has an extra ticket for any Bruce Show at MSG, I will more than happy to take it off their hands

And Now for Something A Bit Different

Being that I am tired of talking about The Mets, not much to say on that subject anyway, I will mention the band I am in. It's called the Trip 3's. The name comes by in a weird way. 3 of us, the lead guitarist, the bass player, and me the rhythm player, all play in the same card game and the address we play at is also 333. Start the Twilight Zone Music.
This is a very unique situation. We play in the drummer's apartment, and he uses electronic drums. He found a way to plug us in to his system, by using a mixing board, mikes, and headphones. All the neighbors hear is us singing from out mouths since the mix is in the headphones. It is also cool since we don't have to go to a studio, pay for studio time and be rushed to play. We are extremely lucky to have this situation.
We are getting together for the first time in 3 weeks this Friday, so we are all chomping at the bit to play!!
More on this in future posts.

Shmets

All I will say is this, after the lovely 13-4 loss last night, even if they do win the division, I can't see them going too far with the pitching they have. You don't win championships this way.

Good Sports Sunday

Besides sports, I plan on talking about music here. Not much going on in that department, but not only will I talk about the band I am in...we just jam, not gigging yet...I will aslo talk about music I am intersted in too.
Getting back to sports, it was a satisfying day for those of us who are Mets and Jets fans. Firstly, the Mets still have a hold on the division lead, although they should have wrapped that up by now, I am confident they will.
As for the Jets,it was nice to see a win at home. I am a season ticket-holder for what is now my 25th year!! I happen to meet these guys in the lot at Giants Stadium, and have been partying with them for 24 years! Here's hoping for at least 24 more!!
Let's hope the Jets get some more wins under their belt

Mets and Jets.....YECCH!!

To those followers of the Metsies and Jetsies, things are not good.
It is far worse for the Mets since, as the season is winding down, they are just playing horrible all around. Too many errors as of late, but above all the pitching stinks. You can't go into post season with horrible pitching....the golf courses will be awaiting you!
Now as far as the Jets are concerned, Chad starts Sunday. If by some miracle of G-d, the offensive line improves a great deal by kick-off Sunday, they may have a shot to win. We will know by 4P.M. Sunday.

Will He Or Won't He?

Will Chad Pennington play after that "fabulous" game against the Patriots on Sunday. If he doesn't Kellen "Clarence" Clemmens, better step up, or the Jetsies will be in a 0-2 hole to start the season. This is my 25th year as a Jet season ticket-holder, and I would like to see them go farther than they had in years. Let us hope so!!
